Google Earth把这些高清卫星照片和航拍照片免费发布在互联网上，其行为实在是惊世骇俗，而意义也决非同一般。至今我们仍难以想像，仅在一年前，甚至是半年前，GE的高清照片还很少，除了欧美等发达国家和地区之外，其他地方几乎是模糊一片。也许是用户呼声太高，也许是竞争对手的步伐在加快，Google Earth在六月，对整个地球做了一次里程碑式的更新，几乎三分之一的人口被高清照片所覆盖。在随后的半年内，更新范围更是扩大到二分之一人口居所，如果你当初因为看不清自己房子而卸载GE的话，那么现在你确实应该再把它安装起来，好好享用。

Fly to your house. Just type in an address, press Search, and you’ll zoom right in.
Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions.
Tilt and rotate the view to see 3D terrain and buildings.
Save and share your searches and favorites.
Google Earth 4 相对Google Earth 3 而言，增加了很多新特性。由于我们是从Google Earth 4 测试版一路使用过来，因此很多新功能和新增Layers都已熟悉，如动画地标等。
关于Google Earth 4 正式版之前的所有测试版,最新增加的功能就是“三维建筑精选”
